Each lesson I give will be tailored to your individual needs as a student and this includes adapting pacing and the style of teaching as we go along to support your learning in the best way possible. The general format I will follow to begin with is introducing the main concepts at the start of the lesson and then spend the rest of the time applying these to examples and exam questions. At this level, it is my belief that most of the learning happens in application of concepts so this is where we will focus our attention.
Asking questions throughout is highly encouraged! Not only does this help me understand where you might be struggling but it also gives you an indication of what you might be finding more difficult which will help with your self-study and revision. Your input on how the sessions are going is also highly valued! We can adjust the pacing and difficulty of the lessons until you feel you are being sufficiently supported and challenged.
I plan to use the CGP textbooks and the exam board syllabus to inform which content I cover and when as well as resources such as physicsandmathstutor.co.uk for exam questions. For those students in need of a challenge, we can try some Olympiad or 1st year degree level questions (but only if you're keen to try them!)
I have excellent science communication skills that I've developed working and volunteering at museums where I get the general public engaged in science! I'm excited to apply these skills in my tutoring sessions.
