My lessons are structured yet flexible, designed to adapt to each student’s individual needs and learning style. I have worked with students from Year 7 through A-Level and early university, particularly those looking to build confidence, improve organization, and strengthen their overall academic skills. I tutor mathematics from Algebra I through Calculus, including statistics, and adjust the pace and depth of lessons based on the student’s goals, curriculum, and current level of understanding.
Each session typically begins with a brief check-in to identify priorities, whether that is clarifying a difficult topic, preparing for an upcoming assessment, completing or reviewing homework, or working through problem areas. I then break concepts down step-by-step, using clear explanations, examples, and guided practice to ensure understanding before moving on. I encourage students to ask questions and explain their reasoning, helping them develop both confidence and problem-solving skills.
In addition to subject content, I place strong emphasis on study planning and organisation. I help students create realistic study schedules, improve time management, and develop effective revision strategies tailored to how they learn best. Drawing on my experience as a tutor at the Maths and Statistics Centre at Wake Forest University, where I was selected as a high-achieving peer tutor, I explain material from a student’s perspective, sharing practical tips and strategies that supported my own academic success.
With over ten years of tutoring and childcare experience, I aim to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and equipped with skills they can use independently throughout their education.
