Hello,
Since I began teaching at the college level, I have been dedicated to three goals: maximizing each student’s performance, inspiring a love for language, and fostering self-confidence in all learners.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in International Communications with a minor in Education from the University of Nottingham, UK, and a master’s in Journalism from Syracuse University, New York. While working as a part-time teaching assistant at Syracuse’s Language Center, I discovered my passion for teaching and became a full-time instructor in 2014.

Since then, I have taught over 200 students from 20+ countries, ranging from ages 15 to 50+, including beginners and experts alike—Japanese salarymen, French lawyers, German CEOs, Harvard professors, Indian engineers, musicians, gifted children, housewives, and retirees. This diversity has taught me to adapt my teaching to different backgrounds and learning styles, making each lesson engaging and effective.

I have honed scientific and efficient teaching methods through years of experience, including time at Beijing Language and Culture University, a top institution for language education.

I am from Harbin and speak with a standard Mandarin accent, essential for solid pronunciation.

Textbooks we might use include New Practical Chinese Reader, Short-term Spoken Chinese, Developing Chinese, HSK Standard Course, Business Chinese, and 301 Conversational Chinese.
