I have a Master's in English language.

I use a method where the student can learn at their own pace. I focus the content on the students own competency and ability. I use syllables for the beginners and full words for the more intermediate or advanced students. For more advanced students I teach how to put full sentences together so that they feel prepared for school or even work for the more advanced student.

I use photos as well as words to enable the student to learn. I cover basic English for beginners as well as advanced English for the student that is more advanced.

I find it important to give students regular breaks to enable them to take in the information being taught. I also set regular homework for students so that I can check their progress on a weekly basis and provide extra one on one tutorial if necessary.

If for any reason a student falls behind with their work, and is unable to complete the term as a last resort I will let the student rejoin the year the following September should they show willing.

I grade students work for each level, A* to an F however I will always do what is necessary for the student to thrive. I listen to students if they are having any personal problems so that a solution can be found if they get stuck with their work due to any personal problems or challenges preventing them from reaching their full potential.
