My lessons are built around the individual child, I take time at the outset to understand how they learn best, what they enjoy, and where they feel less confident, so that every session feels relevant and tailored to them rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach.
For English, lessons typically blend close reading and comprehension. I love making texts feel alive and accessible through unpacking language, exploring characters and themes, and helping students develop their own voice in their writing. For younger children, I focus on building a genuine love of reading alongside the foundational skills that will serve them throughout their education.
I bring a strong academic background in English Literature, alongside professional experience as a Policy Officer where research and clear communication are central to my day-to-day work. This means I can offer students not just subject knowledge, but real and transferable skills in how to think critically, structure arguments, and express themselves and ideas with clarity and confidence.
I am patient, encouraging, and adaptable. I never make a child feel that a question is too small, and I adjust my approach depending on how a child is engaging on any given day. I have extensive experience working with children across childcare, tutoring, and community wellbeing settings, which has given me a deep appreciation for the importance of emotional safety in learning. A child who feels heard and supported will always flourish more readily.
