I teach English Language and Literature from pre-GCSE to A Level. I also prepare students for 11+, 13+ and sixth form entrance and for admissions to Oxbridge and other leading UK universities.

I draw on nine years’ experience teaching English Language and Literature as a private tutor. I teach students to achieve the highest grades they can. My students learn how to conduct careful and rigorous literary analysis at a high level and to think in depth about the social, historical, and political contexts of the works they are studying their texts.

I encourage my literature students to read widely and beyond the syllabus, including literature in translation, and to develop their personal tastes. For English Language, my lessons are primarily exam-focused. Here, reading comprehension, critical thinking, clarity of expression, and the analysis of language and structure are of primary importance. My students frequently exceed expectations.
