I use past paper exam questions and incorporate both content and exam confidence by first ensuring a secure knowledge of the basic content. Then fine tune the student to exam content, questions in order to improve results.
Over 900+ hours of experience tutoring from 11+, KS3, GCSE Maths, English, Science and A-Level Biology, Chemistry and Maths.
I would ask you a lot of questions to ensure I understand if the student grasps the content and in order to assess whether the way you convey the answer is similar that expected by the mark scheme. Questions in my opinion help engrain information into the long term memory.
My experience in A-level tutoring I have been doing with 1 year experience and for medical admissions I have recently helped someone achieve a place at Kings College London for Medicine.
I personally used these tips and techniques to achieve 3 A*s at A-level in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. The most important aspect i find for students is being able to get the confidence to get the knowledge in their head down onto the paper, so closer to exam period I help with Timing Exam vocabulary and common repeating questions.
