Rohan Banerjee

My name is Rohan Banerjee, and I teach one-to-one online across three stages: 11+ entrance, GCSE and A Level, alongside specialist preparation for the TARA admissions test used by UCL and Oxford. Having sat the TARA in its first cohort and come through it successfully, I prepare students from direct experience of the paper rather than from second-hand accounts of it.

Lessons are built around the examination you are actually taking. We work through the specification, then spend the majority of our time on past papers, mark schemes and the kind of timing pressure that decides grades. Every session ends with clear notes and a short set of targeted practice.

I teach patiently. No question is treated as too small, difficult topics are revisited as often as they need to be, and progress is measured against the student's own starting point rather than anyone else's. Confidence is usually the first thing that improves, and grades follow it.

Every plan is tailored. Before we begin, I ask parents and students what they want from tuition: a specific target grade, a particular examination board, a weak topic to rebuild, or steadier confidence in the room. Lessons are then shaped around those priorities and adjusted as they change, and parents receive a short written update on progress whenever they would like one.

Because lessons can be taught online, sessions are straightforward to fit around school and can be rearranged without travel.
