Robynn Hofmeyr

I have a degree in education and have been teaching for 36 years, from 4 year-olds to adults. I have taught literally hundreds of children and adults, in 24 countries around the world, from classes in schools to private pupils one at a time.

My teaching method is based on helping the student discover things for themselves. This is an exciting way to learn and studies show that people retain information better if they have worked it out for themselves.

My job is first to understand what's going on in the student's mind, so that I can set up situations where they can discover for themselves how numbers work.

My pupils usually develop a love of numbers and of the exciting patterns they start to see. Many of my pupils go on to become top pupils in their schools, because it all becomes simple and fun when they understand how numbers work.

A good teacher will always "move from the known to the unknown". That means they will start with something that is easy for you and slowly and clearly help you move from there to the next step. And stay there with you until THAT is easy for you.

I have many special ways of making complicated things simple, easy to understand and remember. I personally have lots of fun with numbers and it seems that this is catchy, as most of my students start to enjoy numbers too.

At each level and topic I have many puzzles and games for you to enjoy to get comfortable with that particular topic. Then we move onwards and upwards, to help you reach your full potential.
