My experience and qualifications: - I am aiming to achieve an A* in A Level Maths from Colchester Royal Grammar School, and achieved a grade 8 in my maths GCSEs (Higher Level). I have prior experience volunteering to tutor in school for younger years.
How the lesson will go: - Student can have the parent (or they can email me themselves) email me the topic they need help with, where I can prepare resources to walk through the question.
- I will begin a call on Google Meet (details can be sent). Then, I will share my screen to OneNote (I'll share access to you, just provide me your email) where I will go through questions live with detailed explanation.
- After some questions, I will give the student a question to do on their own, and from there they can explain their steps to me, where I'll then write out the workings and give them feedback to where they went wrong (or congratulate them for getting it correct!).
- Alternatively, if the student has a tablet with a pen, they can use the OneNote app and use their stylus where I can see their workings.
- The student can then access the OneNote after the lesson. I will provide my email, where I can send the details to the meeting link. OneNote will always be accessible.
- I won't set homework unless a parent would like me to. I will give advice on what they can do after the lesson, though I'm not expecting evidence of this being done, as I know they may have other work.
Why I have chosen to take my time to tutor maths: - Well, it's really as simple as, I love maths! I'm an aspiring Formula 1 engineer who has loved cars and motorsport for my whole life. Therefore, I have also loved problem solving and mathematics for a long time. - Everyone starts somewhere. I used to be pretty terrible at maths, because I didn't see the interesting part in it - I thought it was just algebra and big numbers, but there's more to it. The thinking and problem solving may not be for everyone, but I aim to help the student succeed in maths, and begin to feel confident in their ability.

Having been helped to recap maths GCSE topics by Riyadh, I’ve found that he can effectively explain questions and how to answer them in an organised way, which I think would suit any student that he would teach.
