I structure my lessons around the individual student, as I know that everyone has different strengths, weaknesses and ways of learning. In our first lesson, I aim to understand which areas you are finding most difficult and what you want to achieve, whether that is improving your overall grade, strengthening your essay technique, preparing for an upcoming exam or simply becoming more confident with Economics. From there, I tailor each lesson to your specific goals rather than following the same structure for every student.
My lessons usually combine content, application and exam practice. When covering a new or difficult topic, I first break the economic theory down into simple, manageable steps and make sure you genuinely understand the reasoning behind it. I like to use real-world examples wherever possible, as I find this makes Economics much easier to understand and remember. We then apply the content to exam-style or past-paper questions so that you can see how your knowledge should actually be used in an exam.

A major focus of my lessons is exam technique, particularly for 9, 15 and 25-mark questions. We can work on planning essays, creating strong chains of analysis, using diagrams correctly, applying information from extracts and developing evaluation that is specific to the question rather than generic. I also help students understand what examiners are actually looking for and how to structure answers effectively under timed conditions.

I achieved an A* in A-Level Economics and now study Economics and Management at the University of Warwick. I also have experience tutoring A-Level Economics students with both content and exam technique. I aim to make lessons relaxed and interactive, where students feel comfortable asking questions and telling me when something does not make sense. Most importantly, I want students to leave each lesson feeling more confident and knowing exactly how they can improve.
