For a subject like Mathematics, my core belief is the concept of math mostly include the student having to mug up 20% of the content and understanding and apply what they memorized to the other 80%. So I focus on the student’s capabilities of application and understanding a mathematical question. This can be executed through practicing multiple similar questions, realizing your weak and strong points so we know what we need to focus on etc. I don’t believe “reading” maths sums and problems helps the student, doing these questions repeatedly will allow them to answer the questions from memory by reflex.
