I have Two years experience tutoring GCSE student who were preparing for the exams. My lessons varied from Maths, English and science depending on the students requirements.
Initially, I would like to get to know my students individually and understand what their needs are/ what they’re trying to achieve out of our sessions . This is important to ensure I am meeting my students needs and that the tutoring sessions are of value.
Next, we will go over a tailored plan implementing a preferred learning techniques. Some examples include: practising conversion, online videos, multiple option tests and audio/reading books. This is important as people learn best using a variety of methods and doubling down on preferred techniques.
However, I do aim to push students to try new learning techniques as this increases the chances of students retaining information from lessons. It also ensures students are actively pushing their boundaries and hopefully immersing themselves into the language/culture.
We can then revise our initial plan and make any necessary adjustments depending on their progression based on our current techniques.
