I am a patient, approachable, and enthusiastic tutor who is committed to helping every child reach their full potential. I understand that every learner is unique, so I adapt my teaching to suit each child's individual needs, learning style, and pace. I build positive relationships with my pupils to help them feel comfortable, confident, and motivated to learn. I celebrate progress, encourage resilience, and create a supportive environment where children enjoy learning and are not afraid to ask questions.

My lessons are carefully planned to be engaging, interactive, and tailored to each pupil's learning goals. I specialise in phonics, using a structured, systematic approach to develop children's letter recognition, blending, segmenting, reading fluency, spelling, and comprehension skills. I incorporate games, visual resources, storytelling, and practical activities to make learning enjoyable while reinforcing key concepts. I also work closely with parents, providing updates and suggestions for activities that can support learning at home, ensuring children continue to build confidence and achieve lasting success.

I have successfully prepared pupils for the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check by delivering high-quality, systematic phonics teaching, identifying gaps in learning, and providing targeted support to help every child make progress. My classroom experience has enabled me to create engaging, inclusive lessons that build confidence, develop reading fluency, and foster a lifelong love of learning. We can focus on real world and alien words that are needed specifically for phonics screening.

Alongside the experience in year 1 and with phonics I have experience in years from EYFS through to year 4. I am able to adapt and tailor needs to support your child in English, reading and maths using established schemes and thorough lesson plans.
