About me

Every lesson begins with you. In our first session, I’ll take the time to understand where you are, where you want to be, and what has been standing in your way. Whether that is a GCSE text you’ve decided you dislike, an essay that never quite says what you mean, or a story you’ve been waiting to write.

From there, each lesson follows a clear rhythm. We open with a short warm-up to get your mind...

We open with a short warm-up to get your mind thinking critically, then move into the heart of the session: close reading, unpicking language and structure, or drafting and refining your own writing. We always end with a moment of reflection, so you leave knowing exactly what you’ve learned and what comes next.

I’m a qualified English teacher (PGCE with QTS, UCL Institute of Education) and have taught KS3 and GCSE English in London secondary schools. I’ve written full schemes of work, from dystopian fiction to Gothic creative writing, so I know how to break even the most daunting text into steps you can climb with confidence. Adaptive teaching is at the heart of my practice. If an idea doesn’t land the first time, I’ll reframe it, and reframe it again, until it feels like your own. I have experience supporting learners with SEND and those who speak English as an additional language, and as a bilingual speaker myself, I understand how much courage it takes to express yourself in a language you are still making your own.

I also founded and led a Debate Club, and it showed me something I hold onto in every lesson: young people are far more capable of critique, analysis and evaluation than they often believe. My role is to help you see it too.

Lessons are available online and in person, and parents receive regular updates on progress. I hold an Enhanced DBS.

Literature is so much more than writing. It is the thread that ties us to one another. Let’s find yours.
