I am a distinction level grade 8 violinist and pianist working towards my diplomas. My lessons are based on each individual pupil and tailored to how they respond best to a particular method, I try to push pupils to their limits with violin to allow them to exceed however also handle situations with tact and sensitivity in order to not overwhelm them. I do work through ABRSM grades 1-4 and also pre-prep however grades aren’t necessary if not desired by pupils. I do however ensure that techniques are mastered before grades are discussed to ensure excellent playing for excellent results. As my ad is tailored to beginner violinists I make the lessons as enjoyable and interactive as possible to ensure playing the violin is seen as a hobby or a passion (which it absolutely is) however I also ensure that the workload per pupil is sufficient enough for them to thrive in the environment. I believe it it’s important to carefully and accurately guide them through beginning to play the violin so that they have a secure foundation to fly through the later grades and learn to play professionally. These lessons will be the building blocks of a pupils journey in playing the violin and will ensure that they have techniques and methods knuckled down so they are familiar with the ABRSM grading system, or even just to have the chance to familiarise themselves with playing the violin to move onto the next steps into the world of music. As a musician myself and someone with a passion for teaching I can ensure that I have the right approach to give pupils the best opportunities possible with playing the violin, whether this be playing for an orchestra, playing professionally or even playing for pleasure (which it always is) I have the knowledge to ensure pupils use their gift of playing the violin wisely.
