Hi there, I’m Dr Rebecca. My experience spans over almost twenty years of working in Biological Sciences. I have taught university students in Biological Sciences subjects as a former Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University, with a 100% pass rate on the modules I led. I was nominated for a ‘National Excellence in Teaching Award’ and received recognition as an ‘Inspirational Supervisor’.
I have also taught GCSE Mathematics in Sheffield secondary schools with the charity Action Tutoring. Here I used fun mathematics games to teach maths skills. As such I have a DBS certificate.
I am a friendly person that adapts my teaching methods to your needs. Online (Zoom, Webex, Google meet) I use PowerPoint with diagrams and writing (if you wanted that) to explain concepts. I also can use interactive platforms such as Socrative so that we can engage and interact better. I often recap what we have learnt to reinforce and test understanding in a fun way. I might also do some quizzes ??.
As I am able to teach online I am happy to tutor any one of any age from anywhere in the UK. I can teach in person for one-to-one sessions also and will be happy to visit your home or your preferred place of learning, within the Sheffield area. For GCSE curriculum, the consent and presence of a parent is required at all times.
As I am new to this platform, my rate is an only £40/hour.
