Hello everyone, my name is Randeep Singh and I teach English Language and Literature at all levels up to A-Level, including GCSEs. My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive, and focused on helping each student reach their full potential, whether you're aiming to build confidence or secure the top grades.
Each lesson is structured in a way that balances clear teaching with interactive learning. I usually start with a short activity or prompt to get you thinking, followed by a focused look at the topic so this could be analysing a poem, exploring a character’s development, breaking down exam questions, or developing creative writing techniques. After that, we’ll work through exercises that help apply those skills, either as a class or in smaller groups, and finish with a short recap or discussion to reinforce what we’ve covered.
In Language lessons, we work on building both analytical and creative skills. You’ll learn how to approach unseen texts, explore language and structure, and develop your own writing style whether that is for a speech, a story, or an article. In Literature, we dive into set texts like Shakespeare, 19th-century novels, and modern poetry. We explore key themes, characters, context, and writers’ techniques, while also developing strong essay writing and comparison skills.
My lessons are highly interactive. I encourage questions, debate, and student-led ideas. I want you to feel confident expressing your opinions, even if you're still finding your voice. I bring in model answers, real exam tips, and strategies I used during my own studies to help you understand exactly what examiners look for.
My own background in English at A-Level and my current university studies in Law have helped me refine key skills like analysis, clear writing, and critical thinking; all of which I pass on to my students. I’ve also built strong communication skills through my experience in debating, public speaking, tutoring, and real-world legal environments. This means I know how to break down complex ideas in a way that’s simple, relatable, and effective.
What I offer is more than just content. I support students in building confidence, resilience, and independence. Whether you're struggling with comparing poems, tackling an unseen extract, or structuring a top-grade essay, I’m here to guide you every step of the way with patience and clarity.
Thank you for listening, and I look forward to working with you!
