My lessons focus on representation in the first instance to build a mental model of what is being taught and then I slowly move onto the abstract teaching of the topic which then leads onto the application of what has been taught.
I look at what you need in terms of learning as not all children learn in the same way. I also like to understand what you already know as this is the best way to build on knowledge and get the best out of your time. Using what you know will allow me to ensure that any new knowledge is embedded well and that you feel confident in what you are learning.
