I’m a Geography undergraduate at Durham University with a strong academic background in Maths and Economics, and I offer tailored, engaging tutoring for students working towards their GCSEs. I’ve previously tutored students in both subjects, with two achieving top Grade 9s, and I bring both subject expertise and a clear, supportive teaching style to every session.

Academically, I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths, an A in the OCR Additional Maths qualification, and went on to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma, where I received a Level 7 in Higher Level Economics and a Level 6 in Higher Level Maths.

Each lesson is planned around the student’s needs. At the start of every lesson I talk with the student about how they are doing in and out of school in order to create a functioning relationship with the student, building rapport. I then begin by preparing a concise overview of the topic we’ve agreed in advance, making sure the key concepts are clearly understood. We then work through base-level questions to check comprehension before progressing to more challenging exam-style questions that develop the student’s ability to apply what they’ve learned under exam conditions.

My tutoring style is calm, encouraging, and focused on building confidence. I create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes—because that’s how real learning happens. I also provide follow-up resources or revision guidance where needed, helping students stay on track between sessions.
