My lessons are designed to combat all the problems in the way Mathematics is taught in the modern British education system:

1:1 tutelage so lessons can be tailored to each student's needs.

Providing deep understanding of concepts, so that what you learn can be applied outside of the classroom.

Repeating multiple past papers. Most schools just do a couple of these in the run-up to exams. In my view, they should be practised daily. This will mean that problem-solving skills become a sort of muscle-reflex instead of a task. At the end of the day, nothing beats hard graft.

I don't believe in educational gimmicks. These days already-underfunded and under-qualified schools are always coming up with new ways to teach kids based on pseudo-scientific educational research. I have nothing against this approach if done correctly, but most schools don't have the capacity (nor the know-how) to implement it effectively. All of the greatest English Mathematicians to ever live were either taught with pen and paper, or by chalk on a blackboard. There is no need to over-complicate things.

Finally, I believe sessions should ideally booked in atleast 2-hour intervals. Schools have a large curriculum and a short amount of time, so are forced to squeeze things in. Just like with any craft, mathematics shouldn't be rushed. Imagine a young apprentice builder having just 3-hours a week to learn his trade -- it would be a hopeless endeavour. The exact same principle is true for mathematics.

That's pretty much all I have to say :)
