I am a GCSE English Language and Literature tutor with experience supporting students at different ability levels. Alongside this, I have also worked as a reading tutor, helping students develop their comprehension, fluency, and confidence with texts.
I provide support for both English Language and Literature, with a focus on building clear, structured responses and strong analytical skills. For Literature, I cover key GCSE texts including Macbeth, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, and the Power and Conflict poetry anthology. I help students understand themes, context, and how to analyse quotes effectively, as well as how to apply this knowledge in exam essays.
For English Language, I focus on reading skills, interpretation, and writing techniques, helping students improve their ability to respond to unseen texts and structure their answers clearly under timed conditions.
My approach is straightforward and tailored to the individual, focusing on areas that need improvement while reinforcing what students already do well. I aim to make sure students not only understand the content but also feel confident applying it in exams.
