Rachel Moonan

I have over four years of experience as a Kumon tutor, alongside a Master’s degree from the University of Bristol, and I currently work as a sustainability expert for a global pharmaceutical company. My academic foundation in A Levels in Mathematics, English, and Philosophy underpins both my professional career and my teaching approach, giving me a strong balance of analytical thinking, clear communication, and logical reasoning.

Throughout my tutoring experience, I have supported students of varying ages and abilities, helping them build not only subject knowledge but also resilience and independent study skills. I understand first-hand how challenging it can feel when information doesn’t immediately click or when students aren’t sure how to revise effectively. That’s why I focus on breaking down complex topics into manageable steps, teaching structured revision techniques, and building confidence through consistent encouragement and measurable progress.

Every lesson I deliver is tailored to the individual. I take time to understand each student’s strengths, areas for development, learning style, and academic goals. Patience, clarity, and positivity are at the core of my teaching style, ensuring students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.

Whether through private in-person sessions or 1-to-1 online tutoring, my aim is not only to improve grades but to empower students with the confidence, discipline, and exam strategies needed to truly excel.
