I'm putting both sections here, if you're here for music please skip past the academics clarinet section!

Academics:
I'm a patient, supportive university student who's passionate about helping others out (I am a medical student after all!). Our sessions will be in a more relaxed style, but well structured so we can focus on what needs to be done - I am a planner and will put in the work to prepare our sessions to fit your needs.
My teaching style focuses on understanding concepts, as I believe that once you understand the basics and put it into practice, what used to be intimidating becomes achievable!
In our first session, I'll get a feel for what level of knowledge and confidence you're at with the subject. I'll also take into account areas you want to tackle (or want to avoid) for making our plan. I'm happy to go through any homeworks with you as well - I can do adapt to what will help you the most!
Relevant experience with mentoring includes tutoring maths while in my sixth form, teaching younger students in my taekwondo class and mentoring students successfully through medical application process. I also have experience working in a holiday club for school children.
If you want to know more, don't hesitate to get in touch!
Clarinet:
I'm a patient, supportive medical student who's passionate about spreading my love of clarinet. Our sessions will be in a relaxed style, while still well structured (I am a planner!) so that we can grow towards any personal goals. Perfect for beginners or intermediate players who want to start or grow in their clarinet journey.
I can help complete beginners/beginners with general music theory knowledge to help support their instrumental learning too. I achieved distinction in Grade 5 Theory, and I took Advanced Higher Music (A band 1) so I am definitely covered with any general music support!
What our first lesson will look like:
I'll start by getting a feel for the level you're at, and take into account your personal goals/aims - whether that's just picking it up for fun or improving your playing to join an orchestra. Then depending on where you're sitting, we'll test the waters and come up with a plan that will keep learning fun while encouraging musical growth.
My experience:
Since starting clarinet aged 9, I reached my ARSM diploma in Music performance (achieving distinction) in my final year of school. Throughout my school days, I involved myself in as many music groups inside and out of school as I could. Of particular note was being principle clarinet in the National Youth Development Orchestra of Scotland (4 years), as well as being a part of the West of Scotland Schools Symphony Orchestra.
In my (current) university days, I've immersed myself further in music, and obtained a full course long Montfort Scholarship from my University's Music Centre. I am now also Symphony Manager of my university's symphony orchestra. So far, I have been a part of countless music groups and experiences, including solo performances, chamber groups, musical pit bands and going on tour with the chamber orchestra.
Other work experience I have is retail volunteering at Barnardo's Charity, as well as working as a Holiday Club Assistant with school aged children which I enjoyed very much.
I'm happy to do in person lessons depending on location, but would prefer to do remote online lessons.
As I mentioned earlier, my aim is to spread the joy of playing clarinet in the same way my clarinet teacher did so for me. I hope you'll consider me, and if you want to know more or have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch!
