Rachel Jones

I am an experienced English language tutor with over three years of teaching in secondary schools and summer schools. supporting students one-to-one and in small groups both in person and online. I taught online, helping adult learners prepare for university-level English during my second year at university.

As a native English speaker, I spent seven formative years living in Spain, which gave me firsthand experience of the challenges and rewards of adapting to a new culture and language.

Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in TESOL, I am committed to continually developing my teaching practice. I aim to be an approachable, patient, and engaging teacher who adapts lessons to suit each student’s individual needs. I have a strong interest in language, culture, and travel, and I bring these passions into the classroom to create meaningful and supportive learning experiences.

I have helped young learners with no prior education in their first language to overcome significant language barriers and achieve a B2 level in English. I have also supported students preparing to resit their GCSEs by focusing on reading comprehension and building key vocabulary skills.

My teaching style is personalised, encouraging, and rooted in practical communication, always designed to meet individual goals effectively.

I am experienced in using digital tools and online platforms to deliver interactive and effective one-to-one lessons. I value inclusivity and cultural awareness, and I strive to create a welcoming learning environment where all students can thrive and succeed.

Looking ahead, I am passionate about becoming a full-time online English language teacher, specialising in personalised one-to-one instruction.
