I prefer to teach English using methods and materials that English speakers use in their day to day life. It is important to use material such as newspapers, menus and brochures as they are vital to understanding and learning a language. I don’t like the idea of learning off material from a book, I prefer to en corporate as many communicative ways of teaching as possible. I believe a language should be learnt focusing on communication skills and closely followed by the usual learning off, grammar and writing.
Rather than just using a book I like to use objects, songs, role plays, flash cards and geography/cultural information to make lessons more exciting for the students.
