I'm a Brunel University postgraduate who started taekwondo training in primary school in China, and maintained consistent, dedicated practice six days a week all the way through to my final year of high school, even attending intensive summer training camps and regional competitions to deepen my skills and competitive experience. During that time, I had the opportunity to train with a provincial-level professional squad, which honed not just my technical precision in kicks, poomsae forms and competitive sparring, but also my deep understanding of structured, progressive training methods that build strength and flexibility without burning students out, plus the importance of warm-ups, injury prevention and safe practice that I prioritize in every session. I now hold a 2nd dan black belt and bring that disciplined yet warm, supportive mindset to every lesson, whether I’m teaching teens building confidence, adults looking for a low-impact but effective workout, or fellow students prepping for their dan grading. I offer both in-person classes on Brunel's Uxbridge campus and flexible online lessons, tailoring content entirely to the student: total beginners get a friendly, low-pressure foundation in stances, basic kicks and core discipline, those with prior experience can work on poomsae refinement, competitive sparring tactics or targeted flexibility training, and even busy professionals get focused, efficient plans that fit tight schedules. I also share personalized post-session notes and quick tips to help students practice safely on their own time. As a fellow student balancing my own academic workload, I know how to fit effective training around busy schedules, so I keep sessions focused on steady, measurable progress that builds both confidence and physical ability in a supportive, encouraging environment where questions are always welcome.
