My Maths lessons take place online and are tailored to learners from Nursery to GCSE (ages 3 to 16). Lessons start from one hour, with shorter sessions available for younger children.
What a typical lesson looks like:
- Warm-up: We begin with a quick review of the last lesson to refresh key ideas and build confidence.
- New topic: I introduce the topic step by step, using clear examples, visuals and real-life connections.
- Practice together: We solve problems side by side, and I encourage questions so nothing is left unclear.
- Independent work: Your child then tries similar questions on their own, with my support when needed.
- Wrap-up: We finish by recapping what was learned, and I share feedback with parents on progress and next steps.
For younger children, lessons are lively and playful, using games, counting activities and colourful visuals. For older students, lessons focus on mastering the curriculum and preparing for SATs and GCSEs with past papers and exam-style questions.
My experience: I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and am currently studying for a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. I have taught maths and science as a volunteer instructor, and in my career as a software engineer I mentored junior colleagues, which taught me how to explain ideas clearly and patiently.
I'm happy to have a quick chat with parents before the first lesson to discuss your child's needs.
