I can teach students how to study and complete past exam papers, analyse novels, scholarship, poetry and all forms of literature, understand grading rubric and give useful advice on essay writing. Some tools I use are informative PowerPoints, past exam papers, and previously written essays. My lessons can include not only the study of specific texts, but their place in the wider, literary canon. I can also teach students how to interpret not only European literature, but a variety of world literature. This can range from African literature to Bengali literature written in English. I can also inform students of the wider contexts and histories of literature, leading to a vaster understanding of the texts as a whole. My experience as a University student studying an English BA and MA means that I can also provide seminar style discussions, lecture style presentations and analysis of relevant literary criticism. I am happy to proof read essays at a GCSE, A-level and Undergraduate level, providing relevant feedback in accordance with the marking schemes associated with these levels. I can give tutoring sessions tailored to students who need to significantly improve their writing over an extended period of time, or to students who just need to catch up and refresh on one specific subject, exam paper or piece of literature. I am happy to complete extensive research on any topic I am not familiar with in order to provide the best level of teaching I am capable of.
