As an online photography instructor, my primary philosophy centers on the belief that every photographer—regardless of their current level—possesses a unique creative voice waiting to be refined. To ensure that our time together is as productive and inspiring as possible, I employ a structured, student-centered approach to my pedagogy.

My process begins well before our first video call. I request that all prospective students share a small portfolio or a selection of recent images. This initial review allows me to gauge their current technical proficiency, aesthetic preferences, and existing habits. By understanding where a student stands, I can bypass generic, one-size-fits-all curriculum and move straight to the areas that require the most attention.

During our introductory discussion, I focus on uncovering the "why" behind their pursuit of photography. Whether a student is aiming to master the intricacies of manual exposure, seeking to develop a consistent style, or wanting to elevate their post-processing workflow in Lightroom or Photoshop, I need to understand their aspirations. This collaborative goal-setting is vital; it provides a roadmap for our sessions and ensures that we are constantly moving toward a tangible outcome.

Once our objectives are established, I create a bespoke learning experience tailored specifically to the individual. I firmly believe in setting clear, measurable milestones. By articulating these goals early on, students can actively track their own development, fostering a sense of accomplishment as they move from technical frustration to creative confidence. My lessons are designed to be dynamic and interactive, ensuring that theoretical concepts are immediately applied to practical shooting scenarios.
