Paula Knapp

I am an experienced Psychology Teacher with over 18 years of classroom experience teaching GCSE and A-level students. I have worked with a wide range of learners and enjoy helping students develop confidence and clarity in a subject that can sometimes feel overwhelming. I have worked with students of all levels and abilities and Iendeavour to be patient, good humoured and approachable in my teaching style.
Alongside my classroom teaching experience, I have also worked as an Examiner for AQA (Including the current year). This gives me a clear understanding of how exam boards award marks and the common areas where students lose marks in essays and exam questions. I use this insight to help students focus on the skills that make the biggest difference to their results.

Psychology is a subject I genuinely enjoy teaching. I particularly like helping students understand the bigger ideas behind the studies they learn and seeing their confidence grow as the course starts to make sense. I believe that with clear explanations, good structure and the right support, most students can make much more progress in the subject than they initially expect.
I specialise in GCSE and A-level Psychology, with particular experience supporting students in the areas that many find most challenging. This includes research methods, data analysis, essay writing and exam technique.

I enjoy helping students develop a clear understanding of key studies and psychological concepts while also building the skills needed to apply their knowledge effectively in exams. Many students struggle not because they lack understanding, but because they are unsure how to structure their answers or interpret exam questions. I focus on helping students organise their thinking and approach exam questions with confidence.

I am particularly interested in helping students strengthen their research methods knowledge and develop stronger extended answers, as these areas often make the biggest difference to overall grades at A-level.
