Nowadays most of my tutoring is done online. Having tutored for many years in-person I was concerned that online would lose some of the essential rapport that one needs. Actually this is not the case and I would say online and in-person are very comparable.

Nowadays most of my tutoring is done online. Having tutored for many years in-person I was concerned that online would lose some of the essential rapport that one needs. Actually this is not the case and I would say online and in-person are very comparable.
Depending on the location I dod try to meet up at least once with the student.
For me the homework I set is an important part of the process as it consolidates what has been taught. The lead-in to the homework usually consists of me doing a couple of questions encouraging the student to provide the answers, then the the student does a couple with prompts from me. ie by the time they take a way the homework, they already have confidence in doing it.
For Scottish students, their exams are a little different, so I tutor both regular and international GCSE and the Scottish SQA exams.
