Educational, Cultural, Geographically Diverse experiences:
Just as I mentioned above, I’ve worked with students from the wealthy families in Napa, California. I also was the Executive Director, Center Director & Lead Teacher at the amazing mainstream program (for special education students, medically fragile students & Typically Developing students…I just can’t STAND the term “Normal “).
A Brighter Today provided me with the super enriching opportunity/experience in working with a whole different type of population.
Which I’m eternally grateful for, since I knew of the medically fragile students out there, not to mention the challenges in fostering their development appropriately in a “Typical Learning environment “.
This experience not only provided me with the necessary tool’s to work with both Ambulatory/Non-Ambulatory Students, it also helped me through my recovery from my own brain injury.
While considering the other end of the spectrum, would be when I taught Kindergarten & Third Grade in Oroville California, that serve’s low-income/ESL Students (Hmong/Mien/Cambodian/Spanish Speaking) from the surrounding farming community.
I also taught Third Grade in Glen County, that’s just 10 miles outside of Chico on Highway 32. It too, is a very small farming community that serve’s Hispanic families for the most part.
Bottom line, I’m a super patient, kind teacher with a considerable amount of experience & knowledge of how to implement my instruction plan/lessons. I always ensure, that each student is able to follow along successfully, by observing their body language, participation & overall engagement level!
I plan completely & try to add positive energy, which allows my students to feel at ease with me, as their instructor.
