I teach GCSE Maths how I wish it was taught to me — step-by-step, calmly, and properly explained. No skipping over things, no pressure. If there’s something you don’t get, we slow it down until it clicks should it be calculus, trigonometry, or exam-style questions, for example. I usually start each lesson by asking what topic you’re finding hardest or what you’ve got coming up in school. From there, I’ll explain it clearly, go through a few examples with you, then let you try similar questions while I support you.
We focus on actual understanding, not just memorising methods. Whether it’s algebra, graphs, surds, rearranging, or exam techniques, I’ll break it down in a way that makes sense. If it doesn’t stick the first time, I’ll explain it another way, whatever works best for you. I also show you how to approach different question types, spot common tricks, and build exam confidence.
Lessons are always based on what you need. Some sessions might focus fully on one topic; others might be mixed revision. I keep it flexible so you get the most out of every hour.
I’ve been tutoring for a few years now, helping students with all abilities — from those aiming to pass to those aiming for 8s and 9s. I also taught Year 7, 9, and 11 maths classes once a week at my old school, and I know how to adapt depending on who I’m teaching.
My goal is to help you feel confident in maths and actually enjoy learning it.
