My lessons are structured around each student’s individual strengths, weaknesses and academic goals. I have two years of tutoring experience and have worked with students across Maths and Economics, helping them improve their subject knowledge, exam technique and confidence.

During the first few lessons, I focus on understanding the student’s current level and identifying gaps in their knowledge. We work through the specification together, covering weaker topics while making sure the student has a strong understanding of the core content. I adapt the pace of each lesson depending on the student, spending more time on areas they find difficult and moving faster through topics they already understand.

Once the student has developed a strong understanding of the content, I introduce more exam-style questions and past papers. I usually set a paper or selection of questions for the student to complete between lessons. Students send their work to me at least one day before our next session, giving me time to mark their answers and identify areas for improvement.

During the lesson, we go through their mistakes together. Rather than giving the correct answer straight away, I help the student understand why they lost marks and how they should approach similar questions in the future. This allows us to focus on both subject knowledge and exam technique.

For Maths, lessons focus on understanding methods, practising different question types and developing clear working. For Economics, I focus on understanding key concepts, applying them to real examples and developing strong chains of analysis and evaluation.

My aim is to make every lesson focused and productive. Students leave each session knowing what they have improved, what they still need to work on and what they should complete before our next lesson.
