I have over six years of experience teaching Geography in secondary schools and currently work as a Deputy Head of Geography.
I teach students across the secondary age range and have extensive experience preparing students for GCSE examinations, supporting students with different abilities and confidence levels, and developing exam technique.
My experience includes teaching physical and human Geography, case studies, fieldwork, geographical skills and examination preparation.
I particularly enjoy helping students who feel they are "not good at Geography" build their confidence and realise they can make significant progress with the right support.
My teaching is structured, supportive and personalised to each student.
I begin by identifying the student's strengths, weaknesses and goals. I then plan lessons around the areas that will have the greatest impact on their progress.
For GCSE and A-Level students, I combine subject knowledge with exam technique. We practise applying knowledge to exam questions, develop case-study understanding, and work on structuring longer answers effectively.
I use questioning, discussion, worked examples, retrieval practice and exam-style questions to make lessons active rather than simply talking through a textbook.
I also aim to build independent learning skills so that students gradually become more confident in identifying their own weaknesses and improving their answers.
