The content and structure of the lessons would be determined by the level of proficiency: for higher levels I would be using books such as Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, plays such as the works of Shakespeare or poetry such as that of W.B. Yeats and Oscar Wilde.

For lower levels of proficiency I would do the same but use literature which is more easily understood and focus on a small section of the text to consider the linguistic techniques used, expanding on and reinforcing the English skills taught in schools.
