My lessons are student-centred and interactive, with immersion into our subject as the main point of focus, and active recall as a helpful revision technique. I make an effort to adapt my teaching style to each individual student, prioritising what works best for them, whether that's discussion, practical exercises or visual presentation.
My primary goal is helping students to gain confidence in their chosen subject and pique their interest in it, rather than turning learning into a chore. I aim to make my lessons engaging, supportive and fun so that the progress can really be tracked with the student's confidence rising. I also believe in a subject-based reward system so that my students can be motivated to grow their knowledge even further.
I have experience in working with children from the ages of 11-18 in Classical Studies and Latin, and also helped with peer-tutoring in college for English Literature, so know how to tailor the experience to all age groups.
