Oluwakemi Okolie

Hello!
My name is Oluwakemi Okolie, and I’m a passionate, patient, and creative educator with experience in both in-person and online teaching. I specialise in working with Early Years and primary-level children, and I genuinely believe that every child is capable of learning when they are supported, encouraged, and understood.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching children from diverse backgrounds and learning abilities. I’ve worked in classrooms, one-on-one settings, and online platform. This has helped me develop a flexible and personalised approach that puts each child’s needs at the heart of my lessons. Whether it’s helping a child build their confidence in reading or making maths feel less scary, I’m always ready to meet them where they are.
Patient and understanding, I take time to listen and support my students without rushing them.

Creative and engaging, I love bringing lessons to life with songs, stories, and visual tools.
I celebrate small wins and build confidence in every learner.

My teaching style is child-centered, meaning I build each lesson around the student’s current level, interests, and learning style. I make learning:

Interactive – I ask open-ended questions, use engaging activities, and encourage children to share their thoughts.
I follow a clear plan, but I’m always ready to adjust if a student needs more time or a different explanation.
At the end of each lesson, I reflect on what worked and what didn’t, and use that to plan next steps.

Teaching, for me, is not just about passing on knowledge, it’s about building relationships, growing confidence, and sparking a love for learning.
