Hi! I am a 24 year old recent first class graduate with 5 years tutoring experience for a wide range of abilities and ages. I can tutor Maths and Science, as well as English. Over my four years of tutoring I have racked up hundreds if not thousands of hours of tutoring and I have learnt to adapt my teaching to each students individual needs, and have accumulated a vast range of teaching tools and techniques that simply aren’t available to / or practical for teachers dealing with large classes. I have a good quality webcams and stylus so I can create a virtual ‘whiteboard’ when doing online lessons, but I am also experienced with and very happy to do lessons in person - whatever suits! I think it’s so important to create a personal, informal relationship with my students, that allows for the trust needed to teach effectively, and gives students the confidence to admit when they don’t understand and to ask the questions they need to ask, the questions they might not ask in front of their school class. I really enjoy finding different ways to explain a complicated topic, working out how I can get across a confusing point to a brain that might not work in the exact same way as mine, and I’ve found myself to become adept at doing just this.
I also see myself as a bit of an exam-technique master, having sat through all my school exams and 4 years of University exams not that long ago. I have honed and developed what I believe to be the best approach to exams, that begins not five minutes before an exam, but actually the night before.
