Hello! I'm a native Russian speaker based in the UK, and I'd love to help you learn or build confidence in the language, whatever your starting point.

My background: I hold a pedagogical qualification in Music Education and worked as a kindergarten teacher for several years, which is where I first learned how to explain new ideas patiently and adapt to how each person learns. Later, I spent over 20 years working professionally in Ukranian and Russian, as a journalist, television presenter and editor. That career meant constantly making language clear and accessible to a general audience, whether I was writing an article, presenting a live programme, or interviewing someone on camera. More recently, working in customer service in the UK, I got a lot of practice explaining things patiently and clearly to people encountering something new for the first time.

What my lessons are like: I teach online, and I keep lessons relaxed, encouraging and focused on real progress rather than pressure. I'm currently taking on complete beginners and beginners, so lessons typically cover the basics: everyday vocabulary, pronunciation, simple grammar, and building the confidence to actually start speaking, which I think matters just as much as the grammar itself. I tailor each lesson to what you specifically want, whether that's conversation, structured study, or just getting comfortable with the sounds of the language.
