I usually start my lesson with any new student by first going through diagnostic questions to assess the exact need of the student, the objectives of the student and time frame within which the student hopes to reach the objective.

This then gives me an idea of how to proceed in terms of the lesson contents, focus, pace and resources to use to support the student. I am very experienced with twenty years of teaching in different schools and countries and I am able to adapt my teaching style and resources to the need of individual students.

I make use of various starter activities to help students recall learnt skills, by making use of interactive and fun resources to engage students and promote their love of learning. I also ensure that the resources I use in teaching students are adequately suited to their level whilst also ensuring that students are allowed opportunities to push and challenge themselves through extension activities.

In addition, I make use of problem solving questions and activities which link easily with real-life situations and help to make students reflect on the applications of their mathematical skills to day to day life.

I have a great sense of humour, a kind, gentle and supportive approach towards teaching and this is greatly valued and appreciated by students.

I have a genuine love of teaching and I truly care about everyone that I teach and I always want to make a positive difference in their lives and their future accomplishments and endeavours.
