My lessons are structured, interactive and tailored to each student's needs. I believe students learn best when they understand not only what to do, but also why they are doing it. We normally begin by discussing the student's goals, current level and any topics they find difficult. I then set clear learning objectives for the lesson. I explain new concepts step by step, using worked examples and simple explanations. Students then have the opportunity to apply what they have learned through guided questions and independent practice. For Mathematics, I focus on developing understanding, problem solving and confidence. Lessons can cover topics required for National 4 and National 5, Scottish Highers and GCSE, with particular attention to examination techniques, past paper questions and common mistakes. For Chemistry, I combine clear explanations of scientific concepts with calculations, problem solving and examination practice. I also help students understand how to structure answers and apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions. I use regular formative questions and short assessments throughout the lesson to check understanding. I provide immediate feedback and adjust the pace or approach when needed. My aim is not simply to help students prepare for an examination, but to build their confidence, strengthen their understanding and develop skills that they can use beyond the classroom.
