My teaching approach is communicative, inclusive, and student-centered, with the goal of helping learners develop confidence and competence in Spanish through meaningful use of the language. I focus on the balanced development of speaking, listening, reading, writing, and grammar, while placing particular emphasis on oral communication so students can actively use Spanish in real-life situations from the very beginning. Lessons are dynamic and engaging, combining conversation practice, listening activities with authentic materials, guided reading, structured writing tasks, and clear, practical grammar explanations that support understanding and accuracy.
I strongly believe that every student learns differently, which is why I adapt my teaching methods to suit individual learning styles, abilities, and goals. I have experience teaching students with special educational needs and am skilled at creating inclusive lessons that are supportive, well-structured, and flexible. Patience, empathy, and encouragement are central to my teaching philosophy, ensuring that students feel safe, motivated, and confident to participate and make progress at their own pace.
Having lived in Spain for 18 years, I bring authentic language use and deep cultural knowledge into my teaching. This long-term immersion allows me to teach not only correct Spanish, but also natural expressions, pronunciation, and cultural context that are essential for true fluency. I integrate aspects of Spanish culture, daily life, and real-world communication into lessons to make learning more relevant and engaging.
My aim is to help students build practical Spanish skills that they can confidently apply outside the classroom, whether for travel, work, study, or personal enrichment.
