My lessons are structured, supportive, and adapted to each student’s individual needs and exam level (GCSE or A-level Psychology). I typically begin by identifying the student’s current understanding and any areas they find challenging, then build lessons around clear, focused explanations of key topics such as memory, attachment, research methods, and psychological approaches.
I place strong emphasis on breaking down complex psychological concepts into simple, accessible language, using real-life examples to help students understand and remember the material more effectively. I also encourage active participation throughout the session, asking questions and checking understanding to ensure concepts are fully grasped before moving on.
Where appropriate, I use exam-style questions to help students apply their knowledge and develop confidence in structuring their answers. However, the main focus is always on helping students understand psychology clearly and confidently, rather than just memorising content.
My background as an Assistant Psychologist, along with my postgraduate training in Forensic Psychology and counselling skills, means I am experienced in explaining psychological ideas in an engaging and practical way. I aim to create a calm, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.
