I am a graphic designer by profession and a Creative, and intend to use my experience in this field to create lessons which retain focus, manage behaviour, and encourage active participation.
Working with children is fun, and to keep them engaged and focused I'd have lessons have a bit of the activities they enjoy doing and these include and are not limited to songs, drawings, DIY arts and crafts, while keeping it simple and exciting for their full participation, and removing the classroom feel to it and being another fun activity of learning.
There are common songs, activities and plays across all languages and these being done in English can help them in full understanding of words and meaning and how to use them, for an example Old Macdonald in French, Spanish, Chinese and many other languages.
As a Creative I love to use my hands in DIY project and arts and crafts which will help in class to create part of lessons where we get to make simple crafts e.g bead bangles, and to broaden their understanding of basic words we will then have our List of items we need to make these in English which helps them to learn and identify words during collecting the needed list and demonstration in class. Words like beads, scissors, thread, tie, pull and knot they may use these in their daily activities outside class... However these activities will be done according to age and their English proficiency level.
I do hope the above gives an idea of what and how the lessons will be structured.
Thank you!
