I am a qualified KS1 teacher with 10 years of teaching experience, specialising in phonics, early reading, writing and Maths Mastery. I have extensive experience teaching the Read Write Inc. (RWI) programme and currently work within an Ofsted Outstanding school.
Alongside my KS1 teaching experience, I have worked closely with children with moderate learning difficulties, adapting lessons and teaching approaches to meet individual needs, build confidence and support every child to achieve their full potential.
My lessons are engaging, supportive and tailored to each child’s individual needs and learning style. I create a calm and positive environment where children feel confident to learn, ask questions and make mistakes.
Sessions are carefully planned to build confidence and progress step-by-step. Depending on your child’s needs, lessons may include:
- phonics and reading practice
- blending and segmenting
- spelling and early writing skills
- comprehension activities
- Maths Mastery approaches to develop number confidence and reasoning
- games and interactive activities to keep learning enjoyable
I work with children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, including those who need extra support, confidence building or preparation for the Year 1 phonics screening check.
I am also available for wider primary school tuition across English and maths, supporting children with homework, catch-up learning and general confidence building.
I understand that every child learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style and resources to ensure lessons are both effective and enjoyable. My aim is to help children become confident, independent learners while making clear progress at their own pace.
