I have a passion for teaching and helping to see children succeed in whichever way works best for them! I understand that different individuals learn best in different ways and thus will endeavour to offer personalised lessons catered to the individuals needs delivered in a way which is patient and free from stress. I can also offer the option of setting assignments which I will then take care to mark and provide feedback on. I have had both training and practise in peer mentoring and tutoring programmes through school (predominantly ages 9-13 but I’m open to trying new ages).
A typical lesson would involve feedbacking on prior lessons/assignments and then having an engaging but brief conversation establishing exactly what the tutored wishes to achieve in the lesson. We would then set clear and precise goals. Following this, we would use a combination of worksheets and tasks to identify areas of weakness and then develop strategies for these.
I myself have recently gone through the International Baccalaureate programme at Tonbridge Grammar School and passed with a total of 41/45 possible points (Latin, English, Maths, Biology, Psychology, Geography) . Prior to that, I completed 11.5 GCSES (RS, Maths, English Lit, English Lang, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Latin, Computer Science, History, Geography), (varying between AQA and edexcel) with an average grade of 8.2/9 (including further mathematics). I also went through the 11+ passing highly! I am confident that these qualifications will help me to understand what your child is going through in order to provide aid in the best way possible.
