My lessons are structured, stimulating, and completely adapted to each student's level, learning style, and objectives, whether they are studying mathematics or preparing for the TOEFL and English proficiency exams. I begin by assessing the student's current skills and finding knowledge gaps, strengths, and areas that require reinforcing. This enables me to create lessons that are targeted, goal-oriented, and successful from the first session.
In mathematics, I try to assist students understand how to approach problems rather than relying on memorisation. I break down complex concepts into clear, logical steps and walk students through worked examples before transitioning to individual practice. Lessons contain exam-style questions, systematic problem-solving, and regular feedback to monitor progress. I also teach revision tactics, time management, and test-taking strategies, which help students develop both academic skills and exam resilience.
My TOEFL and English classes focus on real-world conversation as well as exam preparation. Lessons often include guided speaking practice, vocabulary growth, pronunciation exercises, and brief grammar explanations that can be applied immediately in conversation or practical tasks. For TOEFL students, I include systematic speaking and writing practice, listening activities, and ways for effectively structuring responses under time constraints. Every lesson focusses on boosting students' confidence, and I offer a welcoming environment in which they can practise and make errors.
With a background in psychology, I use student-centered teaching methodologies and evidence-based learning approaches in both courses. I tailor explanations to different learning styles, provide clear and constructive feedback, and conduct regular progress reviews to ensure lessons are entertaining, successful, and aligned with each student's goals. My goal is not simply to help students get better outcomes, but also to instill long-term confidence, independence, and a positive approach towards learning.
