I like using flash cards, summarising important notes and mind dumps along with prompted essays.
I would tailor to what each person prefers and what they struggle most with. For example if someone was struggling with knowing how to balance out their arguments in discussion essays we would work together to find what arguments they know the most about and how to work that into an essay

I done Religious, Moral Education (RME) all through high school with going on to do an advanced higher course in Religious Morality and philosophical course with an A which is the equivalent of a first year university course. I also won the highest grades for national 5 exam and higher exam two years in a row for my school. I now study forensic psychology at university going into my second year.
I used to help all my friends and classmates with essay plans, and dissertation. Along with making study materials like flash cards, mind maps etc. we would also use terminology especially philosophy in every day activities to try remember all the different types of definitions and philosophers along with their theories/ practices.
I also volunteered in a first year RME class, I would help them with their work and homework, if they were confused about certain practices in religions I would help explain it to them in a way that would make sense, along with helping them develop skills they needed to start their essay writing and knowing what notes from a slide that needed to be jotted down and memorised.
